Yaye Amtyh Osunbunmi Asili, known as Yaye Amtyh or Mama Bunmi, is a Facilitator, Empowerment Doula, Affirmation Alchemist, Freedom Organizer, Radical Educator, Curriculum Designer, and Traditional West African Dance Instructor. A Howard University alum with degrees in Black Political Science and Africana Studies, she applies a Pan-African Socialist liberation lens to all her work.
She has birthed Radical curriculum, Directed facilitation operations, and trained organizers for the Working Families Party, CWA Union, Rising Majority, ABU Organizing Initiative, and so many more. Prepare for the Black Love Relationship Ceremony, featuring the "Ritual of Reconciliation" created by Ayo Handy-Kendi
Eat lightly an hour before, have drinking water nearby, tissues, wear loose breathable clothing, a notebook or paper for journaling, lowered light or candles, have a mirror, and a heavy pot or urn with charcoal to later burn your apology outside after the ceremony.
Optional elements that are helpful: pure water for clearing the room or yourself; essential oils for anointing the third eye, like hyssop or yarrow; and energy elements to ingest or use for clearing, i.e. nutmeg, honey, salt.

Eat lightly an hour before, have drinking water nearby, tissues, wear loose breathable clothing, a notebook or paper for journaling, lowered light or candles, have a mirror, and a heavy pot or urn with charcoal to later burn your apology outside after the ceremony.
Optional elements that are helpful: pure water for clearing the room or yourself; essential oils for anointing the third eye, like hyssop or yarrow; and energy elements to ingest or use for clearing, i.e. nutmeg, honey, salt.

Ashlee Paris-Jabang & Assis Jabang: Her short film dubbed " THE LEATHER YEAR" featured tender scenes of my husband and I while I recited the poem describing our love journey. Public displays of affection and being in love as a Black person is something that we have a shyness or reluctance to do no doubt rooted in generational trauma (enslavement/colonialism). My aim was to demonstrate my own vulnerability and break that cycle in hope of encouraging others to overcome their own fears of love".
The amazing thing about this film is after releasing it I realised 3 black couples helped to pull it together!
